St Michael's
We believe that a three way partnership between the school, its students and their parents is vital to success

Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance

Careers Guidance and Student Support.

Planning individual career pathways is important. The school has a dedicated careers section which is situated in the LRC on the third floor. A personal adviser offers independent and impartial information, advice and guidance for pupils from year 7 to year 11. The personal adviser can assist and provide quality careers guidance to help young people identify career and job goals, and the learning required to achieve them. These goals can be related to choices for post 16 education options such as college, apprenticeships, CVs and gaining employment. Appointments can be made by dropping in to see the adviser to arrange a convenient time for a guidance interview. The personal adviser is fully qualified to level 4 in Advice and Guidance. The personal adviser will ensure that St Michael’s young people have the best opportunity to participate in education, training and/or employment, through the provision of high quality transparent and independent careers guidance and transition support. Each student is entitled to:

  • Access to computer programmes
  • E-clips and Higher Ideas are careers databases of occupational information and provide job and career ideas for career exploration.
  • Fast Tomato which is Interactive Careers Guidance and Education for teenagers.
  • Access to UCAS (Coming soon).
